What is Pearl Harbr

On December 7th of 1949 in the midst of World War II Pearl Harbor the U.S. Navel base was bombed by the Imperial Empire of Japan. Pearl Harbor is in Hawaii and is located on the big island of Oahu. It is now known that the Commander in Chief of the Japanese Combined Fleet, Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto began his plan to attack the U.S. Naval base at Pearl harbor in January of 1941. In Hawaii at the time of the surprise attack it was 7:55 A.M. Many thousands of people lost their lives on that day. Their were nurses, soldiers, and other personnel there that day to be at aid and to practice for future battles. Because it was on a Sunday morning and most people were either sleeping in or on their way home from church, it was very unexpected for the bombs to start to fire. The service men and women were off of work and were less responsive as they would have on a normal day. In World War II the Empire of Japan was apart of the Axis powers along with Germany and Italy. The Axis powers had long wanted the United States to be apart of the war. The U.S. had remained "neutral" but had continued to help the Allies with supplies and other needs. The Japanese thought that if U.S. wanted to be apart of the war then they would be in the war. They accomplished bringing them into the war on the day known as infamy.
